Still Bloggin'!

For all of your out there who think I have given up blogging...I haven't. I lost a photo card with three hundred and something photos on it...hence, no blogging. I have taken my house apart looking for it right after Christmas (not to speak of looking through bags of shopping sacks and garbage, I know, gross.) It seems to be gone, even though I don't want to give it up as lost. I am just glad that It didn't have December on it. I had a full card and no time to download them so I switched over to my husbands Canon for parties and Christmas. I had another problem with photos right after Charlie was born. I found the camera in wide mode and was looking into changing it back, which I did. Then I was looking at the menu and somehow erase all 312 photos on it...including ALL the photos of Charlie from birth!!!!!! Uggghhh! It had Gracies 3rd birthday party also. Try as I might, I could not get them back. I thought I may have put them into a file, but they were gone. I took two pictures of Gracie before I realized what I had done. That was all that was on the card. I began to cry and call to Jen to tell her what I had done. Everyone had photos of baby Charlie, but I had taken photos of all my grandbabies at birth and I had some that Jen and others didn't. I had Gracie walking with her Papa down the hallway at the hospital, her at my house the four days they were in the hospital, her giving Jen flowers and a welcome sign we had made for Charlie and Mom when she and Ben had come home from the hospital and candids that I was giving Jen that no one else took. I was heart sick. This story has a happy ending though...I took it to Inkley's the next day and for 40.00 they have a retrieval process they do that usually can get back some, if not all of the photos erased. They recovered all but two of my photos. It seems that there are three layers on the cards and I had just erased the top layer of each photo. When I took the two photos of Grace...it went over two of the lost photos and they could not be recovered. It doesn't take them in the order they were taken either, just at random. They even have a way of retrieving some if you reformat and take all three layers off. The fact that I took more after the erasure and the fact that I erased one of those before I knew the damage I had done, meant that I lost two photos. But I am so happy that I have Charlie's birth and Gracie's birthday once more. I am still going to call Canon and talk to them because I never say the word "delete" or "do you want to delete" ever. I am still at a loss as to what happened. My Nikon always asks twice or three times to insure that photos aren't lost. Anyway, now you know and if you are ever unfortunate enough to experience the same situation, don't use the camera and head to Inkleys. I have been so busy helping with baby Charlie, Stake Relief Society (five ward conferences, our open house assignments for the new temple (more to come on that later), and our upcoming Womens Conference for the whole Stake that I haven't had any time to post. So watch for upcoming posts soon. Love, J.

I could feel the stress and heartache over your picture situation as I read. I am so sorry you had to deal with that, but am thrilled the result was a good one with your latest 312 pictures. I look forward to seeing more posts from you also. I always enjoy them very much. Let me know when you have time and I'll help you with the playlist and background.

Hang in there for these next couple weeks... you're almost there!

Sending love from all of us, Shannon

So happy the memories were recovered -- that was a stressful and sad day for both of us. Thanks for all the help and attention you have given our family in the last little while. We love you so much!
